Advocacy services offer support to vulnerable people, people with physical/learning disabilities and/or sensory impairments. If there is a problem with either a persons physical or mental health this can affect their day to day lives and may mean that they are entitled to benefits as a result and further medical support.
A Learning Disability is the disorder that affects the brain's ability to receive and process information. This disorder can make it problematic for a person to learn as quickly or in the same way as someone who isn't affected by a learning disability.
Disability, according to the World Health Organization, is " umbrella term, covering impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions. An impairment is a problem in body function or structure; an activity limitation is a difficulty encountered by an individual in executing a task or action; while a participation restriction is a problem experienced by an individual in involvement in life situations.
